ABOUT
I’m here to guide you and your team out of their cubicles and into the CIRCLE of thriving, activated engagement.
You ready? Let’s go!
Hi! I'm Bradley Rapier
I am an award-winning choreographer, speaker, and founder of Groove Theory.
I’m the creator of the Step in the Circle Framework, a revolutionary new approach guiding leaders and transforming culture out of the disabling epidemic of disengagement, activating people in retreat and unlocking leaders hiding in plain sight.
I am an activator, orchestrator and encourager by nature. Someone who loves life, people, his family, his faith, and the GROOVE. I grew up in Canada about as far away from street culture as possible in Calgary, Alberta, affectionately known as “Cowtown”. I walked away from the pursuit of a career in medicine and immersed myself in over thirty-five years in the world of hip hop dance culture where I went on to perform, choreograph and orchestrate complex multi-layered productions from the commercial world of Los Angeles to New York’s Broadway stages.
L.A. became my home for over twenty-five years and is where I met my beautiful wife in an acting class.
Together we pioneered a gathering that grew into a movement, formed the award-winning hip hop dance group
The Groovaloos and led them as special guests on to So you think you can Dance, Dancing with the Stars
and as grand champions on NBC’s Superstars of Dance.
Our family now lives in Austin where we are no strangers to quick weather changes and Texas Barbecue!
I developed Groove Theory during my years as an adjunct professor at the University of Southern California.
I use powerful analogies from hip hop dance culture and the CIRCLE to guide individuals and teams past disconnection and doubt. At the core of the issue is how do we deal with various levels of engagement? How do we enter new uncomfortable spaces, and how free are we to contribute?
For all of us it boils down to a desire to be present, interact confidently and fully engage in any setting, grounded in the GROOVE.
I understand the stress, overwhelm and consequences of disengagement that has leaders feel unqualified and stuck in the fear of appearing weak. Fear of engagement is breaking communication, blocking creative pathways and has us stand by as massive potential falls through the cracks. This same fear affects the bottom line from productivity and innovation to physical and mental health.
Our approach to engagement must change.
It’s time to lean into the power of authentic human interaction. Time for leaders to activate others, pull them out of these fears and guide their teams toward greatness.
We all have circles we need to step into. I believe it’s crucial for all people to step into who they are designed to be and to bring that unique voice into their spheres of influence. It’s a need for the individual and the greater collective.
I’m passionate about breaking past the transactional nature of linear thinking into the relational quality of the circle. To lead people out of comfort zones into authentic engagement and the ability to lean into hard things. From artists and entrepreneurs to executives and teams there's nothing quite like the transformative process of Stepping in the Circle.
AND...It can be a lot of fun!
Together let’s transform culture and your workplace so that you can lead a happier and more unified team where employees see their value and your corporate productivity thrives. Let’s get comfortable with the uncomfortable.
Let's ... Step in the Circle
